Are we ready to do what it will take to build the masonry workforce of tomorrow?
We all know the facts. Heck, you’re living them. Masons are retiring faster than you can replace them. Young people are turning away from the skilled trades. There are acute labor shortages in every part of the masonry industry, and there’s no end in sight.
Before we invest, let’s learn from the best. We are honored to welcome the man who’s leading the most effective workforce development program in the nation: Ryan Shaver, Workforce Development Coordinator for the North Carolina Masonry Contractors Association. In 4 short years, he’s galvanized everyone in North Carolina — from the masonry contractors and suppliers to the school districts and state government — to build a powerful pipeline of young, motivated, trained masons to meet industry demand.
Now, he’s willing to tell us how we can do it, too. If you care about the future of our industry, please make every effort to join us.
