The Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute’s Certification Program

Masonry Certification That Sets You Apart

Professional Education. Industry Recognition. Proven Expertise.

The RMMI Masonry Certification Program equips masonry professionals with the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to lead with confidence. Built by industry experts and rooted in real-world application, this program recognizes individuals and companies committed to excellence, safety, and long-term success.

Why certification?

The RMMI Masonry Certification Program is designed to:

  • Provide the highest‐quality continuing education to masonry contractors and their key employees so that they may enhance their professionalism, quality, productivity and profitability;
  • Recognize the expertise and accomplishment of those companies whose principals and employees complete the program and adhere to the standards set forth by this program;
  • Provide Building Owners and Architects with a valuable prequalification tool and objective verification of the expertise of those masonry contractors that make a long‐term, company‐wide commitment to ongoing professional education;
  • Encourage and foster improvements in the quality of masonry construction throughout the Rocky Mountain region;
  • Enhance the public image of the professional masonry contractor.

Who may be certified?

Individuals will earn the designation of Certified Masonry Professionals (CMP).   1.  A minimum of one key employee will be actively enrolled in the certification program at all times (until at least 2/3 of all key employees, including owners & principals, are individually certified);
  2.  All certified masonry professionals within the company will maintain their certification by accruing a minimum of eight (8) hours of RMMI‐approved continuing education within every two‐year period; and,
  3.  The company signs a pledge to adhere to the highest standards of service, safety, workmanship and business practices as set forth in the Standards of Conduct established by the Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute.

In addition, Certified Masonry Contractors will be asked periodically to document that they invest in ongoing safety and skills training for their masons and laborers.
